The OEM’s MPS offering will be sold by the UK office products distributor.
Dealer Support reported on the deal, which will see Spicers Office Team Group (SPOT) become an authorised document technology partner, and a “reseller” of Xerox’ MPS programme for the channel and SMB market. Spicers is already a supplies partner in the UK for Xerox, and the news site noted that it would “continue to focus on developing and growing its business” in that respect.
The deal is said to give Spicers the “additional benefit of providing its dealer partners with the ability to sell MPS”, and will create a platform “where Spicers’ dealers can leverage additional opportunities, fully supported by Xerox-trained Spicers sales specialists”. Spicers also commented that it has “aggressive MPS growth plans” that will “benefit dealers”, with additional sales specialists being recruited to “complement industry experts already recruited”.
Jeff Whiteway, CEO of SPOT, commented: “Over the last few years we have seen a sharp rise in demand for managed print services. We chose Xerox as the recognised leader in managed print services and are delighted to become a Xerox authorised document technology partner. This new agreement runs alongside the existing partnership arrangement, which we plan to further expand during 2016.
“This new relationship, backed by a specialist team of dedicated MPS sales executives, will enable dealers to maximise the undoubtedly large and exciting potential of the MPS market. Supported by Spicers’ dedicated sales resource and backed by the leading OEM will enable a proactive attack on this market.”
Donna Marley, Director and General Manager of Xerox UK’s Channels Group, added: “This is an important development that further strengthens Xerox’s partnership with The SPOT Group. Reselling Xerox’s industry leading channel-managed print services offering is a major opportunity for Spicers’ dealers to grow their businesses and provide to their customers all the benefits of MPS including cost savings and increased productivity.”
