Barbara Koich, Sales Director for Vegas Ink and Toner, was interviewed by Las Vegas Informer about the company, which provides printing solutions and sells “new and compatible” inkjet and toner cartridges. The company says it “does business in a highly relational way”, and believes in “giving more than just lip service to superior customer care”. Having been in business for eight years as part of the Rapid Refill franchise, it was converted by owner Larry Goldstein in 2015.

Koich states that the company “prides itself on doing what is right for people and relating to them with a high level of diplomacy”, and that it is “not uncommon […] to go the extra mile” in customer service. She added that “we believe in doing what’s right for our clients and providing them with a lot of education about printing and ink. Some of the situations we encounter can be really delicate and we don’t mind taking the time to provide extremely personalised service. We see ourselves as partners in supporting the success of our clients”.

On becoming an independent business, Koich pointed out that “the new business model is a better reflection of our values and we are growing in a big way. We understand the way that the printing and ink industry works”. Vegas Ink and Toner is said to offer over 10,000 cartridges for sale alongside free delivery for orders over $50 (€45), with each delivery coming “with pieces of candy” as well as a “100 percent guarantee”.

The guarantee, Koich comments, is because “in terms of compatible cartridges, we recognise that many people are uncertain about their quality. We have found that it is most effective to work with suppliers who offer high quality products and we back them with a 100 percent guarantee”. Small business and corporate customers from across the city use the company, as well as insurance agencies, medical offices and law firms.

She also points out again that “one of the keys to our success is that we are constantly engaging our clients about their needs. We take the time to do research and help them make better decisions in relation to printing. Businesses have much different printing needs than a home does. Basic printer trouble shooting is a service that we provide at no additional cost”.

Goldstein meanwhile mentioned the “gotcha” in printing in the form of cartridges, adding: “Many printing manufacturing companies will discount their printers to sell because they know it’s a one-time purchase. The money is made by selling expensive cartridges that frequently need to be replaced. You have to be careful not to sacrifice long-term quality and savings for short-term discounts.”
