kyocera_logo_3039-200x51-200x51The OEM has licensed Arteris’ FlexNoC intellectual property for use in “document imaging and management” product chips.

In a press release, Kyocera revealed that the “network-on-chip interconnect IP enables innovation for custom printing and imaging systems-on-chip (SoCs), with Arteris an “innovative supplier” of “silicon-proven commercial” SoC intellectual property. The IP will be used in Kyocera’s custom SoC technologies that “power its flagship enterprise document imaging and management products”.

Motohide Murao, General Manager of Kyocera’s Software R&D Division, commented: “The configurability and programmability of FlexNoC’s quality of service and scheduler features allow us to optimise on-chip communications bandwidth and guarantee latency within our complex SoCs. FlexNoC’s built-in FlexExplorer simulation has been the perfect way for us to easily implement traffic scenarios, quickly understand the results, and make changes to optimise our designs.

“These Arteris technologies are allowing us to more easily scale up the complexity of our SoCs while permitting us to configure our quality of service and system arbitration much more easily than was possible using older interconnect technologies.”

In turn, Arteris commented: “We are honored that the Kyocera team has chosen to rely on our technology to further advance their competitive advantages in innovation and technology in the enterprise document solutions market.”
