The company has pointed out that some of the OEM’s new releases “may be interesting for remanufacturing for late[r] in 2016 and early 2017”.
The new machines, including the TASKalfa 306ci, 356ci and 406ci, will feature cartridges replacing the “successful” TK450, 550, 560, 570, 590 and 590, with CIT offering a “full range of components” such as toner, chips, waste bottles, empties, cover labels and chip resetters for those, before launching the same for the TK5140, 5150 and 5160, which were launched in machines at the end of last year.
The company adds that “these models are slowly kicking in”, and that it’s “not too late to start them”, with the newest machines including “another three-model set of colour engines” for six new colour printers “in total’ that make up Kyocera’s “line of colour models for the next [few years]”. CIT notes that the six newest use the TK5195, 5205 and 5215 cartridges, and highlighted that it has over 200 chips for Kyocera models already released.
Looking more at the newest devices, the company notes that the printers feature 300,000 page yield drums, 1,200 x 1,200dpi, “pretty normal” print speeds of 40ppm and cartridges with “contact chips”. Toner hoppers are said to be “pretty straightforward to remanufacture”, with the company expecting to “design fitting fill plugs as well as matching waste bottles from our plastics department”, with chips expected by the end of October and waste bottles “soon after that”.
