Box.co.uk will sell Ricoh’s device in a “strategic partnership” in the UK market.
CRN reported on the deal, which was formed after Box “shifted 15,000 Ricoh printers in the past six months”, with the “formal partnership” seeing it “carry a range of the vendor’s printers” at “exclusive rates”. Box stated that it will be “targeting consumers and SMBs of one to 50 employees with the Ricoh range”, having itself recorded turnover for the year ending 31 October 2015 of £27.5 million ($35.6 million/€31.9 million) and expecting to reach £38 million ($49.2 million/€44.1 million) this year.
Rob Woolley, Box’ Category Business Manager, commented: “It’s a long-term relationship. It’s not a short-term deal where we’ll do one deal and not see the vendor again. We can work with them for the next three, four, five, 10 years and as they get more products we can grow with them as well. We already have a lot of products in the printing category set, but the Ricoh brand is not so much out there in the consumer domain and they want to penetrate the market.”
Sharon Sedgeman, Reseller Account Manager at Ricoh UK, added: “Box is the perfect partner for Ricoh, offering first-class products whilst providing real value to customers. Our shared values and a commitment to quality mean we can work together to offer a broad range of printers based around customer needs and requirements.”
