Thieves used an anti-security magnetic device to override the security equipment in a US Walmart store.
Genesee Sun reported that the alleged crime took place in New York state, where police from the Geneseo Department arrested two women as they were leaving in a vehicle, having been in the Walmart store. The police received a call from Walmart of a crime in progress as well as a description of the “alleged thieves”, and managed to apprehend them in the car park.
Police Chief Eric Osganian said in a press release that 43-year-old Natasha Randolph had been arrested for “misdemeanour, petty larceny and misdemeanour [as well as] possession of an anti-security item”. The driver of the car, Cherice Washington, also 43 years old, was arrested for “misdemeanour Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree”, and was found to have “11 suspensions on her driving license”.
The investigations are ongoing, and Osganian said that “further charges are possible”. Both suspects were charged and are “being held at the Livingston County Jail” with Rudolph needing bail of $500 cash (€444) or a $1,000 bond (€889). and Washington $750 cash (€666) or a $1,500 bond (€1,333).
