The six i-SENSYS devices are “efficient” monochrome MFPs with “flexible connections”.

In a press release (German), the OEM stated that the six devices are set to be launched in November in Germany, and are aimed at small offices, with the devices launched including the MF231, 232w, 237w, 244dw, 247dw and 249dw. Each of the printers are “designed to meet the challenges of home office[s] and small and medium-sized businesses”, with new functions offering “greater flexibility and better energy efficiency”.

The OEM added that the printers are also designed to be “easily” be integrated “into existing workflows”, with the MF230 series featuring speeds of 23ppm, the MF240 speeds of 27ppm, and both with a paper capacity of 250 sheets alongside the “Quick First-Print” technology for faster first page prints. The OEM added that the MF240 series also offers duplex printing for “further efficiency gains”.

The devices also offer Mopria mobile connectivity, as well as compatibility with Android, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and the Canon PRINT Business App, wireless connectivity and the MF Scan Utility. This last feature “provides a cost-effective way for sharing of digital documents”, allowing for scanning and creation of “searchable PDF documents”, with the MF247dw and 249dw offering scan-to-email or network functionality.

Both ranges also utilise Canon’s remote user interface (RUI), which can be accessed via mobile devices or a PC over a secure connection for “improved remote access capabilities” as well as “the tools to manage change” remotely in terms of network settings, address books and toner level checks. In terms of energy consumption, a power save mode alongside an ECO function report allows for tracking of use and “tips on improving” efficiency.

The MF237w, 247dw and 249dw all offer fax previews before printing, so users can “delete unwanted faxes” ahead of receiving them for printing, while other environmental features include “automatic shutdown and sleep mode”. The two series also offer all-in-one toner cartridges from the Canon Cartridge Recycling Programme, which offer “easy maintenance”.

Oliver Knipp, Business Development Manager at Canon Germany, commented: “The new i-SENSYS systems are a cost-effective solution for small businesses that expand their options and want to make work processes more flexible. They combine a compact design with optimum printing results, simple integration into existing workflows and mobile connectivity.”
