Money counterfeiter caught in US

A Mississippi fugitive has been arrested after police received information that they were staying in a hotel.counterfeiters

AL reported that Jefferson police were informed by the Pontotoc Sheriff’s office in Mississippi that two people wanted for “passing $100 (€90) counterfeit bills in their county” were in a hotel in Homewood. Randy Christian, Chief Deputy at Jefferson County, was given a description of the suspect’s car. The car was sighted pulling into a “fast food restaurant” and fugitive, 41-year=old Holly Michelle Morris. was driving the car.

Deputies arrested her and Christian said that she immediately asked for her Bible, which was in the car. When it was retrieved police found a $100 (€90) bill in the bible. Christian said that she was also wanted for drug possession, and that there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Morris told police that her cousin was at the hotel, and police found 39-year-old Corey G. Sappington in the process of forging a Mississippi driving licence.

Christian said that there was a “printer and tablet” that they believe were being used to make “forged and counterfeit documents and money”. Christian joked: “What a novel idea. ‘Honey we don’t need to work as long as we have ink and a printer’. I guess that didn’t work out after all.”

Sappington also had “10 outstanding arrest warrants for theft, escape, fraudulent use of a credit card, and drug possession”. He was also arrested as a “fugitive from justice from Mississippi”. Both suspects are being “held without bond” in Jefferson County Jail. and will be extradited to Mississippi to face charges.
