A stream in Kent turned pink after toner was dumped in it.
An investigation by Environment Agency officers has begun after magenta toner was “dumped in a stream” in Kent, with officers currently thinking it was vandals. The brook at Broad Oak Canterbury appears to have been a dumping ground for the toner and other rubbish.
Toby Isaac discovered the vandalism whilst walking his dog, and took a photo of the damage to the stream, where car tyres were also dumped. The mess was cleaned up by the Environment Agency, and it is hoping that there will not be “any lasting damage to wildlife”. Lab tests are being carried out to ascertain the nature of the substance, but it is believed to be magenta copier toner.
