The UK printer, which prints The Recycler, won the award from PrintWeek.
On its awards website, the publication commented that Buxton Press had won ‘Company of the Year’, adding that it was “well into” an investment programme worth over £20 million ($24.4 million/€22.4 million), “which may explain why last year’s winner has done it again”. PrintWeek added that “a major highlight” was the company’s “installation of four new long-perfecting presses with all the trimmings”, while a “holistic” remodelling of the company’s factory “helped accommodate the expansion”.
One judge stated that “I just don’t know how they keep doing it, they just get stronger and stronger”. Buxton Advertiser reported in turn that the company had “made history last year as being the only company to have won the highly-coveted award three times – and in an unprecedented turn of events have topped their own achievement to retain the title for a second year”. Buxton had won the award previously in 2015, 2011 and 2009.
Kirk Galloway, Managing Director of Buxton Press, commented: “This isn’t just for the guys around here now [at the event], this is for everyone back at the factory who have worked hard all year to make this happen. It doesn’t take one person to pick up a trophy, it takes a team, and Buxton has got a fantastic team.”
