Digital Journal reported on the company’s business and technology, with InkEdibles based in Irwindale, California and having been in business since 2011. It noted that it has “provided the means for consumer[s] and those in the decoration business to customise cakes, cookies and more with colourful photos that can then be heartily consumed”, with new products “regularly” launched including “edible ink printers and chocolate transfer sheets”.

All that a consumer needs “to get started” is the edible ink printer, with the company providing bundles including a machine – from Canon, Epson or Brother – and an “edible ink package”, while it also produces branded frosting sheets and edible paper. Its ink is also available in “compatible refillable edible ink cartridges”, and is FDA-compliant in the US, with cartridges utilising “auto-resettable chips” for automatic resetting and “easy refilling”.

The company will be exhibiting at the Cake Expo in Del Mar, California on 29 and 30 October, and providing demonstrations of the printers and inks, as well as giving away a free printer worth around $269 (€246).

Dr. Dimitris Constantinou, founder of InkEdibles, commented: “Halloween is always a special time to see the creative ways that consumers and business owners have fun with creative and personalised decorations. Our mission is to provide to provide innovative, fun and high quality products for consumers to enjoy with family and friends, and for the cake and food decoration industry.”
