Ricoh USA launches new monochrome MFPs

Oct 26, 2016

ricohmonomfpThe OEM’s US subsidiary said that the new devices improve “productivity and document workflow”.

Industry Analysts reported on the launch, with Ricoh’s new machines including the OEM’s Workstyle Innovation technology that “empower[s] users to get more done, faster”, and the monochrome MFPs aimed at “helping enterprise employees do more in less time”. The MP 6503, 7503 and 9003 feature respective print speeds of 65ppm, 75ppm and 90ppm, and are both EPEAT Gold-rated and ENERGY STAR-certified.

The OEM stated that the series “smartly adapts to user needs, helping move information more quickly throughout high-volume environments, enhancing collaboration and streamlining work for all employees, including remote and mobile workers”. Giving more information on the WorkStyle Innovation technology, Ricoh USA pointed out that it enables users “to share and receive information how and when they want to without delay”.

Part of this is thanks to the machines’ 10.1-inch Super VGA panel that “simplifies tasks, creates customised automated workflows, and enables seamless access” to the cloud, and the printers can also recognise “common smartphone and tablet techniques” including “pinch-and-flick and drag-and-drop”. Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector app also helps offer “seamless integration” between devices and the printers.

Other features include a single pass document feeder that can scan up to 120 single-sided and 220 double-sided images per minute, a print resolution of 1,200 x 1,200dpi, a standard paper capacity of 4,300 sheets expandable up to 8,300 sheets, and an “Eco-Friendly widget” for users to “check usage statistics”, alongside a motion sensor for energy saving and fast start. Up to 3,000 “frequently used documents” can also be saved on the machines’ 320GB hard drive.

In security terms, the three printers also utilise user authentication controls “to prevent unauthorised access”, while the hard disk features “powerful encryption” and uses a DataOverwriteSecurity system (DOSS) to destroy “latent document images”.

John Brophy, Vice President of Product Marketing for Ricoh USA, commented: “In today’s modern business environments, employees need a smarter way to work. Productivity simply can’t be slowed down by formatting requirements or delayed because a user is waiting for a device to turn on. That basic need for workflow to be simpler, easier, and faster is the driving force behind Ricoh’s Workstyle Innovation Technology.

“On top of collaboration and efficiency, this RICOH MP 6503/MP 7503/MP 9003 series provides the kind of sustainability modern organisations need in order to succeed.”
