The printer remanufacturer has launched the guide to the OEM’s printers and fusers for service companies.
Metrofuser noted that the ‘Guide to Samsung Printers and Fusers for Service Companies” aims to “educate service organisations”, and help them with the “transition” after HP Inc was revealed to be acquiring Samsung’s printer business. With the deal “promis[ing] to reinvent and replace service-intensive copiers with superior multifunction printing”, HP Inc will acquire a “compelling intellectual property portfolio of more than 6,500 printing patents”.
Metrofuser added that this will also see HP Inc absorb a “world-class workforce that includes nearly 1,300 researchers and engineers”, and with Samsung representing “only four percent of the laser printer market” last year, and having “so few devices in the field compared to HP”, Metrofuser believes that “very few service companies will be ready for this transition technologically or logistically”.
Companies that are servicing printers “will need to get familiar with Samsung devices, parts and SKUs over the next six months”, and to aid that Metrofuser’s guide serves as “an introduction to Samsung products that will help service companies get familiar with Samsung’s current Business Class colour, monochrome and multi-function devices”.
In Metrofuser’s view, the Samsung line “will likely be the platform for the HP pivot away from some Canon products”, and its guide also features a “Samsung fuser assembly look-up with part numbers and ‘street prices’”. It concluded that in its belief, the “transition will go beyond the A3 device class, so we included a broader list of machines”, noting that the report is available on its website at www.metrofuser.com.
