Konica Minolta releases quarterly results

Konica-MinoltaThe OEM saw revenue and operating profit fall compared to last year and the last quarter.

For the first half of the year, Konica Minolta’s results included an 8.9 percent fall in revenue and a 34.3 percent fall in operating profit, with revenue recorded as ¥461.9 billion ($4.3 billion/€3.9 billion) and operating profit as ¥18.5 billion ($176 million/€160 million), compared to last year’s respective half year results of ¥507.2 billion ($4.8 billion/€4.3 billion) and ¥28.2 billion ($268.3 million/€244.1 million). Profit during the quarter meanwhile fell 22.1 percent on last year to ¥13.4 billion ($127.5 million/€116 million).

The OEM maintained its previous predictions for the full year, with revenue expected to be 0.2 percent at ¥1.03 trillion ($9.8 billion/€8.8 billion), and operating profit 8.4 percent less at ¥55 billion ($524 million/€472 million). The OEM’s first quarter results earlier this year showed that revenue had fallen from ¥248.6 billion ($2.3 billion/€2.1 billion) last year to ¥229.1 billion ($2.1 billion/€1.9 billion), a fall of 7.8 percent, while operating profit fell 11.1 percent from ¥10 billion ($95 million/€85 million) to ¥8.9 billion ($84 million/€76 million).
