In a press release, conveyor and warehouse solutions provider Hytrol stated that it worked alongside its “integration partner” McCombs-Wall to provide LD Products with the “energy-efficienct automated material handling system capable of growing with the company”, and meeting “all of the standards to quality for LEED-certification”.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited system allows for “future expansion, including increased capacity, accuracy and speed”, and is “comprised of many energy-efficient and unique applications” of Hytrol’s technology, with one such “key component” its E24 24-volt technology “used to transport totes and shipping cartons from an A-frame system to one of several areas”, including a “consolidation put-to-light system, manual small package area, and the USPS packing area”.

McCombs-Wall and LD Products were able to “implement a material-handling solution that accommodated an increase in throughput” as well as “their unique variety of SKUs”, with the “intelligently-designed system” allowing LD Products to “reduce their workforce by 53 percent”. The technical benefits also allowed LD Products to “utilise Hytrol’s wide variety of training opportunities to provide the necessary support for the system”.
