Ricoh launches neon yellow toner

ricohneonyellowtonerThe OEM has launched the toner in Europe for use in production press printing.

In a press release, the OEM stated that the neon yellow toner “increases print vibrancy and differentiation”, and allows print service providers to “produce highly-creative, eye-catching value-added print”. The toner has been developed for “the fifth colour station” on the OEM’s Pro C7100X series of “colour cut-sheet digital production press”, and will “meet growing demand from the magazine, direct mail, retail and point of purchase markets”.

Other advantages of the toner are said to include that it “expands the colour gamut, enhances images and can be used as a solid or highlight or graphic colour”, and “when combined with other process shades, it can create a neon palette”. The toner is also “reflective under UV light to extend the range of printing possibilities offered by standard CMYK, white, or clear printing”, extending “the variety of print possibilities”.

Providers, the OEM claims, can “develop more visually inspiring campaigns with their clients and deepen consumer engagement”, with the toner “retrofittable”, so existing clients “can expand the capabilities” of the Pro C7100X presses “today.
