The remanufacturer and marketer of printers, parts and training announced a new printer video technical support (VTS) service.
The company has added video support to its technical support department, and although there will still be support by phone 95 percent of the time for printer issues, the more complex problems will be shown on video. The videos can be accessed by any smartphone, and printer service organisations can access technical support in any office to expand their capabilities.
The VTS service is also said to be an “excellent” resource for pre-diagnosis of laser printer problems, and troubleshooting print defects and paper jams. The videos will support those needing help with printer repair, Metrofuser stated, and field technicians will be able to show the support staff the issue and environment the printer is working in “instead of describing the problem”. The VTS will strengthen the company’s live-based US phone support, it added.
