Print-Rite Europe reported that the “power of 3D printer partnerships has been recognised” with the deal, which will see the UK’s University of Derby “expand its resource[s] and work with Print-Rite Europe to develop new opportunities for students”, with the deal “the latest Print-Rite Europe has formed in the education sector where it is fast gaining a reputation as a specialist manufacturer”.

The company added that it is also “becoming well known as a company keen to jointly explore how 3D printing can become an integral part of an establishment’s capability across a wide range of learning sectors”, with the company’s 3D Services Executive Joe Banner and Marketing Manager Lucy Knight visiting the university “to meet members of its 3D Printing Society and to hear about the work students are currently undertaking”.

The society’s President Stephen Gore and other members of the society “welcomed” the Print-Rite visitors, who loaned the university a CoLiDo x3045 3D printer “until June next year” to “assist with the students’ work”, and it has also been given a CoLiDo DIY printer “and sold another at a discounted price”. Banner also “demonstrated how to set up the DIY printer”, which he managed to do himself “in just under 30 minutes”.

Print-Rite Europe concluded by noting that the students “will be keeping [it] up-to-date with [their] exciting projects in the coming months, so stay tuned”. The company recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, and opened a European 3D printing hub at its head office in Nottingham, UK.
