Employees in Singapore have taken food to underprivileged families in Lengkok Bahru.
The families on a housing state near Redhill benefitted from a food drive organised by employees from Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia (BSA), it was reported in a press release. The food packs contained essentials like canned tuna, beans, snacks and hot drink packs as well as instant meals, and the company’s workers were there to help distribute the packs.
Celine Long, Senior Manager of Konica Minolta BSA, said: “It is always energising to get our staff invested in such community activities, and what better way to celebrate Christmas than through giving. The food drive enabled our employees to make an impactful contribution to the community at Lengkok Bahru.”
The food drive is part of the company’s CSR programme to “contribute to the betterment of local communities through inclusive and collaborative activities” launched earlier this year, and encourages its employees to volunteer more as well as supporting the Singapore government’s policies to encourage people to give back to their community.
Mr Gerard Ee, from the housing estate, commented: “We applaud Konica Minolta for rallying their employees to give meaningfully this Christmas season. The food packs will assure our members that they live among caring people who have their interest at heart.”
Long remarked: “As a company that has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for five years in a row, we want to continually find ways to generate long-term stakeholder value.”
