Mary Ouyang attended the 2016 Anniversary Celebration of the Women and Children Welfare Association in Zhuhai.

The company stated that the event took place on the evening of 18 December at the Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel, with Ouyang “invited to attend” alongside “more than 600 entrepreneurs, artists, entertainers and volunteers”. At the event’s start, the city leader, the head of the Municipal Women’s Association and the President of the Welfare Association “successfully delivered their speeches”, before an awards ceremony.

This saw “new members, [an] honorary chairman and strategic partners of the Welfare Association” rewarded, and a charity auction followed alongside “entertainment shows”. The event raised RMB 1.5 million ($216,291/€207,747), which will be used to “help the women and children who are under difficult circumstances and improve their survival environment”.

Ouyang donated RMB 100,000 ($14,419/€13,849) on behalf of Mito, and was awarded as “one of the Icons of Public Welfare”, also being selected as Vice President of the fifth Council of Women and Children Welfare Association. The company concluded that “with the rapid growth of the company, Mito is taking more and more social responsibilities on the way. Mito will continue to make greater contribution[s] to society through the practical action”.

The company’s staff visited a Zhuhai nursing home as part of a “thanksgiving trip” late last year, at the Zhuhai Lebainian Nursing Home.
