The OEM’s UK subsidiary has launched two new ECOSYS machine ranges in the UK market.
Dealer Support reported on the launch of the ECOSYS M5526dw MFP range and the P5026dw printer range, which aim to “enrich smarter workspaces”. The MFP has shrunk in size by 46 percent and the printer by 26 percent, making the “compact entry-level devices” designed for “single users and small workgroups” with an “unrivalled low cost per page”, the article noting that the machines “embrace the typical quality associated with the ECOSYS product range”.
The ECOSYS technology “adopts a radical cartridge-free engine design” that “drastically” reduces the “amount of waste caused by consumable replacements”, as well as “the energy consumed in their manufacturing and distribution”. As a result there is “up to 85 percent less electronic waste during the life of the printer”, with up to 500,000 pages “printed without drum replacement”.
The site added that the OEM “remains the only manufacturer to have taken this approach” and “combining maximum resource efficiency with maximum user economy”, with the printers “easy to maintain” as the technology “also means that there is no need to replace the drum and developer before reaching the end of machine life”.
The toners are “pre-installed and replaced with the simple press of a side door”, so that the machines “are built to be easy to maintain for partners”. The site also claims that “logistics are also considerably easier for partners due to the new compact size of the new devices”, which are “more connected than ever” with integrated wireless connectivity.
The printers and MFPs can “be tailored to suit various smart working environments and mobile printing applications” such as Apple AirPrint, Mopria and Google Cloud Print, with Dealer Support concluding by noting that the range “also includes the Kyocera Mobile Print app for mobile scanning and advanced print jobs”.
