The environmental organisation came out in opposition to President Trump’s “protracted war on [the] environment”.
The Green Hat was launched “for the defence and restoration of the earth” and represents the programme “Make the Environment Great Again,” which is a reminder to the president that making “America great again” is impossible without “a clean and green environment”. Scientists in the US have said that “of all the problems America might face as a nation, climate change and […] environmental destruction tops them all”.
Jim Puckett, Executive Director of BAN (Basel Action Network), said: “Our new President fails to recognise that it is actually the environment that never ‘wins’ anymore. It’s been on a century-long losing streak and its losses lead us ever closer to the demise of every nation, every political party, every hotel chain, every ethnicity, religion, all of us, forever.”
He also said that the launch of The Green Hat is the “most important campaign slogan of all time”. The proceeds from the hat sales will go to BAN and other small environmental organisations costs.
