The company is laying off more workers which includes many in Massachusetts.
The Boston Globe reported that more than 200 jobs are to go, including many at the Staples headquarters in Framingham. Company officials said in a statement that “we are strategically restructuring our organisation in order to support the needs of our customers and align with our business priorities. As a matter of policy, we do not discuss staffing figures”.
The Recycler reported on Staples restructuring its business and the sale of its European business, as well as the loss of jobs and stores in the UK. The layoffs come a year after the company started cutting jobs after its failure to merge with Office Depot.
