A string of robberies occurred in Oxfordshire, UKm including a failed attempt to rob a Cartridge World store.
The Herald reported that there was an attempted robbery at Cartridge World Wantage on the same day burglars raided a supermarket in Faringdon. The Budgens supermarket in Faringdon was broken into, and alcohol stolen by two men who were described as “of a large build [wearing] dark clothing”.
The two men were thought to have made their getaway in a grey five-door Peugeot 206, and police said that the same vehicle is linked to the attempted burglary at the Cartridge World store. Police are appealing for witnesses after the crime was committed 12 February at 5am. Budgens in Yarnton was also robbed at gunpoint the day before, with the gunman threatening the staff and getting away with cash. Police said the robberies could be connected.
PC Robert Maris, Investigating Officer for Faringdon, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time. I would also appeal to anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching this description around the area, at the time or the following day, to contact police.”
