Feb 22, 2017

The OEM’s subsidiary held “a week-long product showcase” to celebrate 30 years in business.

The Sun Daily reported on the “product showcase” in Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, noting that this “featured all of its imaging products and achievements for both the consumer and enterprise markets”, including “the latest devices in Canon’s line-up” including the PIXMA E470 from the “Ink Efficient Printer range”, as well as the Maxify MB4570 business inkjet printer. Visitors were also able to enjoy “discounts and promotions on all the products on display”.

Among those attending were President and CEO Andrew Koh, Head of Consumer Imaging and Information Division Jeffrey Kung and brand ambassador Janna Nick, with Koh stating that “the celebration of Canon Marketing Malaysia’s 30th anniversary is an exciting time for our company, and we are grateful for all of the local support and encouragement we have received over this journey.

“We are glad to have been given the opportunity to serve Malaysia, and we hope to continue delighting every Malaysian with our products and services”. Koh also noted that “over the past 30 years, Canon Marketing Malaysia has evolved from a staff force of only 52 people in 1987, to over 600 employees currently employed in its head office and seven branches nationwide”, not including 3,000 direct channel partners that “helped to transform Canon into a household name”.

The news site added that Canon “is currently leading the inkjet printer market as a top Malaysian brand for the last 21 years”, and has been “the number one laser printer brand for two consecutive years in the market”, concluding that with cameras also on display, a “camera clinic” was set up “as a gesture of commitment to their customers” so that “members of the public could bring their Canon cameras in for a service or repair”.
