Market research has predicted that the market will grow at a “splendid” rate through to 2019.
The findings from Orbis Research outlined that the global MPS market will see a “splendid” compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.1 percent between 2014 and 2019, noting that MPS is a “professional service offered by third-party service providers to help organisations attain a cost-effective and well-managed imaging and printing environment” through optimisation of “document output devices and other related businesses”.
It notes in turn that MPS is “facilitated by some of the key software” including print management, device management, design and development and scan routing, with the report looking at the “present scenario and the growth prospects” in “three key geographies” – the Americas, the Asia Pacific and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
Key “vendors” include Canon, HP Inc, Ricoh and Xerox, though there were also a wide range of other “prominent” vendors such as: American Reprographics; CDW; Epson; Falcon Managed Document Service; Konica Minolta; Kyocera Document Solutions; Laser Technologies; Laserfiche; Levi Ray & Shoup; Lexmark; Pitney Bowes; PrinterCorp; Samsung; SCC; Sharp; and Toshiba.
The report also looked at “the major drivers that influence the growth” as well as “the challenges faced by the vendors and the market at large”, alongside “the key trends that are emerging”. On the first of these, it names “increased need of document security”, while for the second it highlights the “issue[s] related to language diversity”, and for the last it earmarks “increased usage of green printing services”.
