Mar 10, 2017

The OEM has launched a wide range of monochrome printers in the US market.

The first of two launches reported by Industry Analysts saw the OEM’s US subsidiary, Kyocera Document Solutions America, launch the ECOSYS P3060dn range, which includes four monochrome models with “mobile printing, scalable memory, storage and paper capacity” features. The printers build on “the success” of the OEM’s existing ECOSYS FS-4300DN series with “increased processing power, memory and Wi-Fi Direct capability”.

The four printers include the P3060dn, 3055dn, 3050dn and 3045dn, with respective print speeds of 62ppm, 57ppm, 52ppm and 47ppm. Kyocera stated that “for growing businesses, the [series] delivers performance, reliability, and exceptional versatility”, alongside expanded paper capacities of up to 2,600 sheets and “extended preventive maintenance cycles” of up to 500,000 printers for the quicker machines and 300,000 prints for the 3045dn.

Other features include a five-line LCD screen, hard key control panel, upgradeable memory and storage to 2.5GB and 128GB respectively, and Kyocera Fleet Services cloud monitoring service compatibility. The range is available now for suggested retail prices of $2,439 (€2,296) for the P3060dn, $1,629 (€1,533) for the 3055dn, $1,469 (€1,383) for the 3050dn and $1,259 (€1,185) for the 3045dn.

The second launch meanwhile saw the OEM release the ECOSYS P2040dw series, consisting of two “feature-rich monochrome desktop printers designed for the budget-conscious business”. The two devices include the P2040dw and 2235dw, and both “provide large paper capacity, standard duplex, and print speeds of 42ppm and 37ppm, respectively”, alongside 1,200dpi resolution and 850-sheet paper capacity.

Other features include “walk-up USB accessibility”, while both printers also provide Wi-Fi Direct, and are compatible with Kyocera Mobile Print, Google Cloud Print and Mopria, while the P2040dw is also compatible with Apple AirPrint. The OEM stated its “patented imaging technology enables businesses to achieve fast return-on-investment, with minimal impact on the environment”, and as “the drum is separate from the toner cartridges, it does not have to be replaced when toner is depleted”.

These two machines are also Kyocera Fleet Services-ready, and are available now for $654 (€615) for the P2040dw and $506 (€476) for the 2235dw.

Chuck Clarke, Product Marketing Manager for the Corporate Marketing Group at Kyocera Document Solutions America, commented of the first launch: “Our goal is to help our customers maximise their business potential. This series accomplishes just that, offering the advanced capabilities today’s workgroups need – and expect. Our customers are looking for more powerful black & white printers that can grow with their business. And we’re proud to say that this is it.”

Of the second launch, he added: “These printers were built to meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce. Businesses are becoming more mobile every day. These are printers that can certainly keep up. At Kyocera, we’re dedicated to meeting our customers’ needs – and exceeding their expectations. The ECOSYS P2040dw Series supports our customers’ sustainability initiatives – while driving down their operating costs.”
