Pelikan opens new German office

Apr 3, 2017

The company’s Pelikan Hardcopy business has relocated to Moers, near Düsseldorf, with the move part of its reorganisation and bringing together of its sales and marketing companies.

The company reported (German) that it was “pleased to announce the opening” of the new office in Moers, adding that the new site was “chosen because of its central location and a result of ongoing efforts to make the activities more efficient”. This builds on the news in February that it had reorganised its sales and marketing, which it will operate from this new site.

That earlier announcement saw the company report the reorganisation will mean the sales and marketing will no longer run from the DACH region, Benelux and Nordic countries, and that it has also revived its Geha brand after the separation of both the PBS and hardcopy business three years ago, and it will now be marketed through Soft-Carrier and Api exclusively with the focus being on sales of the IT specialist trade and system house channel.

In this latest update, Pelikan stated that the companies were brought together to “maximise the benefits of the multi-brand strategy”, as with the “grouping of its own sales companies” from both Hanover and Nijmegen – respectively the brand and second brand – into “a new sales organisation. The Moers office will “lead” in Germany, the Benelux and Nordic countries, and the strategy “follows and strengthens the position as a partner for the customers in all different business segments and channels”.

Additionally, the French sales organisation, which “has already successfully implemented this concept”, and “is responsible for sales activities in Southern Europe and now also for European marketing”. Pelikan added that the “main reasons for choosing the new offices are its central location in Europe and the easy accessibility of nearby motorways and the Düsseldorf airport”.

Wolfgang Stadler, Managing Director of Pelikan Hardcopy Sales, stated in February: “By bundling our sales and marketing activities in Moers, we will be able to react more flexibly to market requirements in the future. The hardcopy manufacturer will bundle its sales and marketing activities for the DACH region as well as the Benelux and Nordic countries in the future in Moers. The site in the Dutch town of Nijmegen has been closed.

“At the same time, the French regional company takes over the management of sales activities for Southern Europe and is also responsible for European marketing. The customer service centre will continue to be located in Hanover. The aim of the measure is that all activities for the three Pelikan, Geha and Prime Printing brands as well as the private label business will be better coordinated in the future. This will allow us to react more flexibly to market requirements in the future.”

He added in this new update: “This office will be the basis for our sales and marketing team across Europe to work together, discuss ideas and further improve our services. In this way, we hope to meet the growing expectations of our customers in this constantly changing market.”
