Cartridge World store closes

Apr 12, 2017

Another UK store has closed in the north of the UK.

The Evening Mail reported that the store in Barrow Cumbria has closed down amid many other stores closing in the town. A sign in the window thanked customers for their support but the report said it was not known how many jobs had been lost. The story appears to be a common one at present and The Recycler has reported on several other closures in recent times.

Stephen and Carol Pike closed their franchise store after 13 years of trading, but have moved premises and reopened a shop that sells cartridges and cards.

A Cartridge World store in Norwich entered liquidation in January due to fierce online competition which squeezed its margins. The leased premises in Norwich closed its doors on 31 December 2016, owing £73,000 to creditors after being in business since 2002.
