The survey showed that 90 percent of businesses are practicing eco-friendly activity.
Business Wire reported that a survey carried out by Staples in association with Frank N. Magid Associates Inc., said that there was regular activity in recycling, energy choices and purchasing more “eco-friendly products”.
Mark Buckley, Vice President, Environmental Affairs, Staples Inc., said “Making daily green choices is not a trend, it is a regular ritual and a priority for our customers. Our survey found that both businesses and individuals engage in some form of regular eco-friendly activity both in the workplace and at home, and are actively seeking environmentally conscious choices. Staples is excited to be a trusted partner through our large sustainable product assortment and extensive recycling services.”
The study revealed that 89 percent of companies and customers said that eco-friendly products are “the same or higher quality than non-eco products” and 74 percent recycle glass, metal and plastic although only 51 percent recycle electrical equipment while 59 percent practice energy efficiency.
The survey was carried out online and 600 consumers and 1,300 businesses took part between December 2016 and January 2017.
Staples was recognised this month for its energy efficiency practices by ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award and this was the eighth year the company has been awarded for its sustainable practices which included free electronic recycling in 2016 recycling more than 25 million pounds of e-waste as well as selling $4 billion (€3.75 billion) environmentally friendly products worldwide.
