Jun 1, 2017

The dispute between Canon and J&H Greentech and Trading Ltd has concluded.

In a press release, Canon announced that J&H Greentech and Trading Limited who trade under Prestige Cartridge have come to an agreement regarding their “alleged infringement of Canon’s European patents EP 2,087,407 B1, EP 2,137,577 B1 and the respective international counterpart patents thereof”.

J&H has also agreed not to “dispose of, offer to dispose of, use, keep, import or otherwise deal with certain laser toner cartridges” which are used in several Canon and HP Inc laser printers globally. This will resolve and conclude all matters on a global basis pertaining to the patent infringement proceedings which are pending in Germany and Italy.

Canon stated that the settlement agreement details are confidential but that as an OEM they respect Intellectual property rights of other companies and individual and expect the same in return and that the company “remains committed to taking legal action against anyone who does not respect Canon’s Intellectual property rights”.
