Injection molding machines show record sales in 2016.

According to K-Zeitung this year’s Chinaplas held in Guangzhou had 155,000 visitors which was 21 percent more than the last plastic fair and shows that plastic processing is moving upwards again in China which is the “world’s largest market for plastic”.

The article noted that there were also record sales for injection molding technology and that in the second half of the year sales of US$3.9 billion (€3.4 billion) were recorded which was the “highest since 2009”.

China’s research teams reported that research would reach US $4.8 billion (€4.2billion) by 2021. China is the largest producer of injection molding machines with 407 registered manufacturers in 2016 and local production has risen despite a fall of nine percent in foreign trade.

Ninbo is the largest site for injection molding machines “where Ningbo Sumiju, Chen Hsong and Ningbo LK are located next to Haitian as the world’s largest manufacturer” and around 60 percent of domestic sales and 50 percent of exports are traded from this city while China’s domestic market moves towards quality computerisation in the car and electronics industry which puts “high demand on the processors”.
