Jun 7, 2017

The company is closing the store in Boardman effective from 8 July this year.

Tribune Chronicle reported that while the Boardman store is to close the ones in Niles and Hermitage will remain open and a spokesman said that the closure of the store was part of Staples effort to “right size” its business.

Last month Staples announced the closure of 70 stores in different locations and closed 48 stores last year.

The Recycler recently reported Michelle Bottomley’s appointment as CEO which will see her heading marketing and promoting the North American Delivery business which makes up 58 percent of Staples total sales according to its 2016 report however sales have dropped by 4.9 percent in the first quarter after 18 stores were closed in North America in the same timescale. This leaves the troubled company with 1,237 US stores and 304 Canadian stores.
