Details of changes at Ricoh Australia are coming to light as reports emerge of staff cuts.
CRN in Australia reported that “Details of sweeping changes at Ricoh Australia continue to surface, as managerial staff leave the business, several print dealer partnerships end and the Lanier brand, acquired in 2014, is retired.”
According to CRN staff numbers leaving are around 70 now and it is across Ricoh and Lanier. The reduced numbers of resellers are now reportedly down from 96 previously to 72.
Andy Berry, Managing Director, Ricoh Australia, who came from Fuji Xerox, was appointed last year.
CRN was told by Berry that the executive team had been reduced from 13 to eight, although additional, new positions were created at the same time all as part of a streamlining process for the company.
According to the article, Ricoh Australia has now completed its restructuring of staff levels but mentions that the company was not the only one having to go through this exercise as “the printing industry has stagnated in recent years, with office equipment sales flat and the number of pages of print per device on the decline.”
