Jadi Imaging’s new e-commerce platform was launched in July and Liew Kit, Executive Director at Jadi was recently interviewed about the new web platform.
The Edge Financial Daily interviewed Liew Kit who explained about the ambitions the company has on their new business to business platform launched in July. Liew Kit told The Edge Markets that the website will be “the group’s main competitive advantage moving forward”.
Explaining the aftermarket, Liew Kit said it was as simple as a substitution of an OEM cartridge and there is growth potential for the aftermarket to gain a bigger share of the OEM market. Although, according to Liew Kit, the barrier to overcome is the public’s perception of the aftermarket.
The article notes that in Liew Kit’s view, “compatible cartridges are gaining market share worldwide as compared to the remanufactured cartridges due to lower cost and improving quality.”
As a further negative perception Liew Kit states: “In Malaysia, you have a lot of cases of counterfeit products that have been raided by the police. So people tend to [equate] compatible cartridges [as being] counterfeit which is a wrong perception.”
The B2B platform was launched last month and is aimed at reaching “smaller customer groups and build brand awareness in order to enhance the group’s image as a trusted compatible cartridge manufacturer”.
The new platform will see Jadi offering its existing products using the brand name Jaditoner and the goal is to develop relationships in the “value chain” in Malaysia, UK and China while other countries will still have access to jaditoner.com.
