Lexmark now shipping new A3 colour laser printers

Aug 23, 2017

Lexmark has announced that they are now shipping their new range of nine A3 devices initially to US customers.

The nine new models were previously announced back in June, and the two series are designed to serve the most demanding of workgroups with fast, efficient and secure imaging services.

According to Lexmark the CS92x Series and the CX92x Series are their fastest printing and scanning devices and have the highest paper capacity. Print speeds for the new MFPs range from 35 to 65 ppm. The CX924 colour laser MFP can print up to 65 pages per minute (ppm). Scanning even faster the CX92x Series of MFPs scanner can scan at up to 80 ppm. Both series of these A3 printers have the largest paper capacity in the Lexmark colour laser range at 6,650 sheets.

Other features incorporated in these new series include:

  • Security: Lexmark’s comprehensive full-spectrum security is built into every CS920 and CX920 to create not just a safer but a more productive environment for these already high-productivity workhorses.
  • Mobility: Make mobile printing as easy as PC printing with the free Lexmark Mobile Print app, or get output via AirPrint®, Google Cloud Print™, Mopria® or Windows Mobile.
  • Flexibility: Enhance your user experience and productivity with included solution apps, plus the ability to customize it with optional apps, or even create apps of your own.
  • Accessibility: There’s integrated voice guidance, a standard headphone jack, tiltable control panel, and the ability to use both standard accessibility “swipe” gestures and an optional USB keyboard. It’s all part of making Lexmark’s best SRA3/12×18-in MFPs ever not just accessible to those with varying levels of abilities, but a better user experience for everyone.
  • Manageability: The CS920 and CX920 series become an integrated part of an existing Lexmark fleet as soon as you plug them in, with complete fleet management, proactive diagnostics, and remote firmware upgradeability.
  • Integration with Lexmark services: Every CS920 and CX920 series device is fully compatible with key Lexmark services and solutions, from Managed Print Services to Lexmark Print Management.

Aftermarket perspective:

These new devices are just shipping and are likely to be heavily marketed to replace older models of Lexmark devices in the field.

The Recycler understands that the devices are being shipped with the highest levels of encryption yet deployed in the office printing market.

Typically it takes two to three years to reverse engineer an aftermarket solution so that the printers could use non-Lexmark remanufactured cartridges, but according to a source familiar with the new models said: “I think we might see a viable technology solution for non-Lexmark remanufactured cartridges as early as next spring.”
