This latest release will add a new dimension to the world of 3D printing with its use of 3DColorJet technology.
3D printer manufacturer, XYZprinting, has just launched a full-colour 3D printer, the da Vinci Color, which utilises 3DColorJet technology that combines inkjet printing with the fused filament fabrication printing process.
The release of the new printer was announced at IFA 2017, where it was on display from 1-6 September, and it is now available for pre-order on the XYZprinting e-store for $2999.95 (€2502.18).
The da Vinci Color, a CES 2017 Innovation Award Honoree, uses the 3DColorJet solution to “mix and fire CMYK colour droplets onto PLA filament for accuracy and precision.” It can achieve the full colour spectrum of 16 million colour possibilities and manages to combine the colour detail “perfected in inkjet printing, with advanced, professional 3D printing technology.”
Its other features include XYZprinting’s hands-free auto calibration, a 5-inch colour LCD screen and an EZ removable print bed. The printing manufacturer’s CMYK ink cartridges are compatible with the da Vinci Color and ensure colour quality for every print produced. In addition, the printer comes equipped with a non-toxic filtration system.
This new full-colour 3D printer will benefit a variety of sectors including architects and designers, small business owners, fans, collectors, and both the Education and Animation and Movie Model industries.
Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting, explained that “With its 3DColorJet technology, the da Vinci Color is a breakthrough in 3D printing technology as it provides full colour spectrum accuracy at an affordable, small business-friendly price, that is unmatched by any other 3D colour printer in the market.” He continued, “Just as we did with the da Vinci 1.0 in 2014, the da Vinci Color is poised to change the 3D printing industry again and allow you to turn your creativity into colour 3D.”
