M2 hosts charity golf cup

Sep 21, 2017

The company’s second annual Mulvey Cup Tournament will be held at the end of the month in aid of Cancer Research.

The golf event is put on by M2 in tribute to the memory of “loyal and fun-loving” former employee Steve Mulvey, who worked for the company for a decade and tragically passed away from cancer in 2016.

Steve “made many friends within M2 and with our customers, suppliers and partner organisations” and as a result, M2 “would like to extend the invitation to The Mulvey Cup to all those friends and welcome any support you can give to help raise funds for this worthy cause.”

The Mulvey Cup Tournament Charity Golf and BBQ Event will take place on 28 September at The Mere in Knutsford. With this year’s Cup the company hopes to “eclipse the £10, 000 donated last year and spend the day as Steve would have done – having a good time!”

After the golf, attendees are invited for drinks at the 11th Green Bar, followed by a barbecue which will take place from 3pm.

There are a number of ways attendees can help raise money for Cancer Research:

  • By booking a team for the golf. 18 teams of 4 are available, at a cost of £95 per person or £400 per team
  • By donating a prize for M2 to raffle in their e-auction
  • By opting for a spa treatment at £35 per treatment for those who are not keen golfers
  • By making a charitable donation to the fund

Last year’s inaugural event was deemed to be “a great success” by Steve’s friends and colleagues who participated. Sponsored by the M2 Board, the fundraising drive was also aided by business partners HP, Ricoh, Canon and Nuance along with M2’s parent company, SCC.

M2 says, “We will endeavour to acknowledge all organisations donating within our communications.”
