Brother releases a new thermal label printer that can print in both red and black.
ChannelLife NZ has revealed that Brother has launched new business label printers that can “create labels in both red and black and are available in two models.”
The QL800 model comes with such features as “USB connectivity, an integrated cutter and software for designing labels”, while the QL820NWB comes with a “large graphic LCD display and an extended range of connectivity options, including Bluetooth and wired network connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi, AirPrint and USB connections.” It can run on an optional Li-ion battery and is able to work on stand-alone mode, without being connected to a PC. This model recently garnered an award for “Best Product Technology” from the North American Office Products Award.
Brother describes the QL820NWB as being “suitable for warehouse environments” due to its ability operate on a stand-alone basis, which means “labels can be printed wherever they are required as opposed to where the power source is located.”
Retail outlets could also benefit from this model, using it to “print food labels, pricing and barcode labels or promotional signage that uses both black and red ink, rather than a single colour.”
Both of the new models use DK22251 tape, a new “heat-sensitive thermal paper”, and they both come with “a print head” which can print in both red and black without the need for ink or toner.
The article quoted Matthew Stroud, chief operating officer and director at Brother International, New Zealand, as saying “Building on the success of our existing business series of label printers, the new range with its two-colour thermal print option once again affirms Brother’s position at the forefront of office printing technology.”
