Konica Minolta takes 3D printing to schools

Oct 13, 2017

The company is offering a 30-day ‘Try before you buy’ 3D printing scheme for use in the classroom.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has revealed that it is partnering with Dremel in order to introduce 3D printers into a classroom setting, explaining that by doing so, “abstract concepts are transformed into physical models”; this will help students make connections between what they learn in school and what they encounter in the real world.

As a result, Konica Minolta says, students will become “more engaged in the process of design, invention, and creation to develop the STEM skills needed for our information age.”

Students will benefit from interactive learning with the introduction of the 3D printers and it is hoped that both their critical thinking and decision-making skill sets will be enhanced, which would then lead on to “increased test scores, retention and student engagement.”

Konica Minolta is offering a 30-day Try Before You Buy scheme for schools interested in acquiring the Dremel 3D Idea Builder 3D printer. The promotion will run from 1 October 2017 through to 1 July 2018 and is only available in the USA.
