Samsung Printing Solutions offers advice and solutions to businesses wanting to reduce their e-waste.
Earlier this year Samsung published an online article encouraging “Eco-friendly business practices” which not only benefit the planet but can also enable companies to cut costs.
Samsung warned that roughly 40 million tons of e-waste are being generated per year, with environmental campaigners describing e-waste as the “fastest-growing form of garbage”. As a result, governments are “clamping down” with fines and other policies to discourage businesses from producing too much e-waste.
The article encourages companies “to make smart choices when it comes to printer networks”, for example, by investing in durable, long-lasting office devices such as Samsung’s MultiXpress printer series.
Another way to reduce e-waste is by investing in “future-proof technology” or finding “software solutions that help older devices find new uses.” An example is the Samsung Smart UX environment, which comes on many of Samsung’s MFPs and features an “Android-powered touchscreen interface that allows users to download a range of apps and widgets”. A Smart UX Mobile app is available.
