The Taiwanese desktop 3D printing company recently attended the TCT Show in Birmingham where 3DPrint caught up with its European Marketing and PR Manager to learn about its development.

Described in the article as “a mainstay in desktop 3D printing”, Taiwan’s XYZprinting offers a variety of desktop 3D printers of differing “price points and capabilities”, among them the da vinci Color, which was on display at the TCT Show.

Cin-Yee Ho, the company’s Marketing Manager and PR Manager for Europe, told 3DPrint, “It took a while to learn our identity,” and went on to say, “We have been working for three and a half years in Europe, building our brand. For us to enter this market, which is quite competitive, starting from zero, makes us very proud of where we are now.”

The company, “frequently seen among the unit sales leaders”, thanks to its combination of customer targeting and market strategies, has managed to leave behind a number of its competitors, thanks to the industry expertise of its CEO.

“It is not so hard to be number one because we target the consumer; but then competitors follow suit, and how do you keep ahead? Our CEO has foreseen the limit, he had that experience in 2D printing. Survival there was jumping into 3D printing. Combining 2D knowledge with 3D printing, he understands what consumers want, and we have worked to develop that,” commented Ho.

The company’s patent-protected da Vinci Color 3D printer attracted a number of manufacturers to its booth during the Birmingham show, keen to examine its colour technology.

During their visit to the booth they could also view “two islands of technology, one with the company’s FFF (FDM) offerings and one featuring their SLA products”. XYZprinting currently produces “child-friendly 3D printers” sold in toy shops, and its da Vinci Color is used in schools, though the company is hoping children will soon be able to use them at home as well.

Ho revealed to 3DPrint that the company was now “looking for distributors in the complex UK market” and also commented that the TCT Show in Birmingham had “been a very good show for us.”

Looking forward, XYZPrinting “is continuing to broaden its offerings and is prepared to work hard to establish itself as a manufacturer of low-cost, high-quality machines.”
