Canon UK has revealed that it has promoted industry veteran Stuart Rising to the position of Head of Commercial Printing.
American Printer reports that in his new position, Rising “will lead a team of experts in both monochrome and colour inkjet continuous feed, further strengthening the company’s comprehensive professional print services offering.”
Rising has been working in the printing industry for over 20 years, transitioning to Océ 18 years ago from a channel partner. Since then he has held various positions across the areas of business development, software and sales.
Rising, who lives in Thames Ditton, Surrey and is the father of two children, is taking over from Craig Nethercott, who is moving to Australia to become Océ’s regional Managing Director.
He previously launched Canon UK’s “3D offering” which “resulted in the creation of a highly successful business that has now been rolled out across Europe.”
Duncan Smith, Director of Industrial and Production Solutions at Canon UK, said, “I’ve worked alongside Stuart throughout his career in the Océ and Canon organisations and know that his extensive experience will be put to good use in this new role. The Commercial Printing team continue to go from strength to strength and Stuart will help build on their success.
“Canon takes a collaborative partnership approach to working with customers, enabling them to uncover new revenue streams, improve their margins and make the most of their equipment. Our world-class technology, service and applications all help make that possible.”
Rising commented, “There’s a world of opportunity within printing for our customers and their feedback is vital in helping us to develop Canon technologies of the future. Our current focus is on systems that enable shorter print runs, just-in-time print delivery, personalised content and greater cost-effectiveness.
He continued, “It’s not just about products. We maintain a dialogue with industry trendsetters and opinion leaders, as well as finishing and software partners, to ensure Canon continues to innovate and drive new technologies and solutions.”
