The Japanese-American company has signed up for the city’s eco-friendly initiative.
Fuji Xerox Australia has become one of the founding partners of Carbon Neutral Adelaide, an initiative to help Adelaide become the first carbon neutral city in the world, writes Athina Mallis for ProPrint. The company has pledged to contribute to a sustainable, low carbon economy in the city, and will work to identify local opportunities to improve its own carbon footprint.
“Sustainability is a core part of the Fuji Xerox ethos and is embedded in every facet of our business operations and solutions provided to our customers,” said Mark Richards, Fuji Xerox’s regional manager for South Australia. “We are proud to serve as a Founding Partner in Carbon Neutral Adelaide and hope that more businesses will follow our lead in joining the effort.”
Carbon Neutral Adelaide is a community-led project bidding to reduce the level of carbon emissions in the city, whilst encouraging others to take similar action against climate change.
Adelaide’s Lord Mayor, Martin Haese, said: “Achieving carbon neutrality is an ambitious goal and one that cannot be achieved without the energy, commitment and creativity of leading businesses and organisations. We are thrilled to have the support of Fuji Xerox Australia and look forward to working with the local team to learn, collaborate and influence action.”
Fuji Xerox has been a United Nations Global Compact LEAD company since 2010, and has a commitment to producing zero landfill waste from customer-collected devices, parts and consumables; Fuji Xerox Australia has fulfilled this commitment since 2012.
