Hayley Shorthouse began her successful career in the recycling industry 20 years ago and is now at the helm of her very own IT recycling company.
Hayley Shorthouse is a recycling industry success story, having this year become the company owner of Uniq Recycling Ltd. The company offers an “easy and reliable” service, collecting a variety of IT equipment while allowing customers to feel satisfied that they “are helping their community”. The company’s tagline is Seamless IT Recycling, and its service is cost neutral, WEEE compliant, and ensures secure data removal.
Shorthouse first began her career in the recycling industry in 1998, taking on the role of Environmental Specialist/ISO Management Rep at EMC Ltd, where she worked for over 14 years and had a wide range of job responsibilities.
She then went on to hold Sales Manager roles at both Rethink Europe Ltd and CTR Europe, and in 2016 worked as a Business Development Manager for Propaye Ltd and then the Redeem Group, Europe’s biggest mobile phone and IT recycling business.
She is “currently working towards being a Chartered Waste Manager through the CIWM” and describes herself as “a keen adventurer, environmentalist and humanitarian” who is “passionate about making a difference.” With this goal in mind she channels a percentage of her company profits into community projects in the Midlands area where she is based.
