The OEM’s Thai subsidiary is expanding with 3D printing, virtual reality and other tech innovations, with a focus on responding to the needs of millennials.

With 30 percent of Thailand’s workforce consisting of millennials – aged 17-34 – and with Bangkok serving as Southeast Asia’s “second largest market for the computing and printing business” the Bangkok Post reports that HP Inc Thailand Ltd “is diversifying into virtual reality, 3D printing and innovative technologies” targeted at younger generations.

“We foresee demand from both corporations and consumers for powerful technology that serves rapid innovation and disruption,” explained Koh Kong Meng, General Manager and Managing Director for HP Inc Southeast Asia and Korea.

HP Inc Thailand’s Managing Director, Pavin Vorapruck, revealed that the company was shifting its focus “from products to customer needs” by offering digital lifestyle products “to millennials” and also “increasing corporations’ productivity with lower expenses.”

In addition, he explained that the Thai subsidiary “will convert its channel partners to solutions sales providers” through “combining solutions to vertical sectors” including start-ups and SMEs.

Among its offerings is the “Device on a Service” platform, a “rental business model” for corporations, as well as the pocket-size Sprocket photo printer, virtual reality, 3D printing and VR for “new condominiums and property projects”.

HP Inc Thailand’s 3D printing “will enable the company to tap into the US$12 trillion (€10.306 trillion /THB397 trillion) global manufacturing market.”
