Konica Minolta reopen Edmonton office

Nov 21, 2017

The Canadian branch of the OEM held the ‘grand re-opening’ to mark the completion of the renovation.

Following on from news of the closure of its Windsor facility, Konica Minolta Business Solutions’ Canadian subsidiary has officially reopened its corporate office in Edmonton, Alberta, following a ten-month renovation costing over a million dollars.

Chris Dewart, the President and CEO of Konica Minolta Canada, said: “We are committed to supporting local economies across Canada and Edmonton is the most recent in a series of large investments we have made to prepare for future growth.”

Konica’s rejuvenation of the 23-year old building comes as Edmonton’s local economy strengthens, following struggles in 2015 and 2016. The OEM currently employs 55 full-time workers in the Edmonton area, and generates over $18 million (€15.3 million) annually.

A “grand re-opening” was held on November the 9th, with a formal ceremony attended by, among others, “dignitaries, software vendors, and valued customers.”

Dewart added: “Another strong reason for the revitalization of many of our older locations is to align with our corporate vision of improving how people work. Our innovative Workplace of the FutureTM strategy is as important for us as a business, as it is for our customers.”
