HP Inc reveals full-year and Q4 2017 results

The OEM has published both its full-year and fourth-quarter results for this fiscal year, reporting an increase in net revenue compared to last year.

HP Inc reported a fiscal year 2017 net revenue of $52.1 billion (€44.32 billion), an increase of 8 percent from the prior-year period (and up 9 percent in constant currency).

Q4 net revenue was reported at $13.9 billion (€11.82 billion), an increase of 11 percent (12 percent in constant currency) from the same period last year.

The company’s fiscal 2017 fourth quarter segment results are as follows:

  • Personal Systems net revenue was up 13 percent year-on-year (up 14 percent in constant currency) with a 3.8 percent operating margin. Commercial net revenue increased 11 percent and Consumer net revenue increased 18 percent. Total units were up 6 percent with Notebooks units up 8 percent and Desktops units up 2 percent.
  • Printing net revenue was up 7 percent year-on-year (up 7 percent in constant currency) with a 16.6 percent operating margin. Total hardware units were up 3 percent with Commercial hardware units flat and Consumer hardware units up 3 percent. Supplies net revenue was up 10 percent (up 11 percent in constant currency).

In addition, HP’s net cash provided by operating activities in the fourth quarter was $0.7 billion (€0.59 billion), and in total HP generated $3.7 billion (€3.14 billion) in net cash provided by operating activities and $3.3 billion (€2.807 billion) of free cash flow in fiscal 2017.
