The new video for their song, “Obsession”, features an eye-catching backdrop of laser printers.
According to Radio, OK GO’s new “Obsession” music video showcases the “tactile charms” of hundreds of laser printers – 567 to be exact – which help to “create a dynamic backdrop” for the foursome. While they sing, dance and play instruments, the printers continually spew out reams of both white and coloured papers directly behind them, which gives the aesthetic visual effect of “walls of solid colour, intricate designs and, ultimately, photo-realistic scenes.”
The video concludes with all four members of the group soaring into the air, with the help of harnesses, in front of what appears to be “a Google Earth display.”
The music video revealed that all of the paper used in the video was recycled, with the band donating the profits to Greenpeace.
