The OEM’s American division’s software portfolio has taken top prize in the 2018 BLI Awards.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA has won Buyers Lab (BLI)’s Document Imaging Software Line of the Year 2018 award for the Americas. The award is bestowed upon the vendor offering the most robust and complete software portfolio, across the multiple document imaging application categories that BLI covers.
When making the decision, BLI analysts considered the software on sale, and supported by, each leading printer and MFP OEM through both its direct and independent sales channels. Both the OEM’s own products, and products available from partnered independent software vendors (ISVs), were considered, with the portfolio then judged on the breadth and depth of the products offered.
Assessing breadth, BLI’s team looked at how complete each vendor’s line was, across the most important classes of document imaging software. These include: Document capture and workflow, document management, device management, and output management, as well as other solutions such as MFP apps and vertical-market offerings.
Konica Minolta was rewarded for several class-leading software offerings, such as the Dispatcher Phoenix capture/workflow platform, and its ground-breaking bizhub Marketplace online portal, which made various customisable User Interfaces available. The OEM’s portfolio of document imaging applications, sourced from ISVs like Kofax, Nuance Communications, and Pharos Systems, also made a difference.
Jamie Bsales, Director of Software Analysis for BLI, said: “As customers look to leverage their investments in technology to do more with fewer resources, software solutions are proving to be the key to streamlining document-centric workflows and improving efficiency. In this year’s evaluation, Konica Minolta stood out for the wide range of products the company offers through its direct and dealer channels. Notably, in our analysis, the company scored the best among leading OEMs in the key categories of Capture and Workflow, Document Management, and Device Management.”
“We are excited to receive this prestigious award from BLI in recognition of our industry-leading solutions portfolio,” said Kevin Kern, Konica Minolta’s Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning. “As customer needs evolve, we will continue to invest in aligning our solutions and services offerings to meet both their current and future requirements.”
